Sunday Service Information (9/13/20)

Brian Sullivan   -

We are excited for our gathering THIS Sunday for multiple reasons:

*As Palm Beach County moves into phase 2, we are still providing as safe of a place possible for people to gather together – outdoor, social distanced seating, mask until you get to your seat, hand sanitizing stations, shortened services. If you are not high risk, we encourage you to take a next step and join us in person.

*We are starting a new series in the book of Psalms – specifically the Psalms of Ascent (Psalms 120-134). These “songs” are thought to be sung by God’s people as they would make 3 Pilgrimages a year to Jerusalem. The songs would remind them of “who they were” and “where they were going” as God’s people.  Eugene Peterson connects the Psalms to the journey of a Christian: There are no better “songs for the road” for those who travel the way of faith in Christ, a way that has so many continuities with the way of Israel. Since many (not all) essential items in Christian discipleship are incorporated in these songs, they provide a way to remember who we are and where we are going.

In the midst of all the challenges of our world, these songs will remind us of who we are and guide us in where we are going.

*CrossPointe Kids – next phase! If you are comfortable, Tiffany will be teaching the kids a lesson during the sermon. So kids will be with us for the first set of songs, go for short lesson that coincides with the sermon and then come back in for communion and closing songs. Please have them bring a mask for when they walk around and we will have socially distanced spaces in the kids space!
