We want to continue to develop as a worshipping community. One area of development is engagement in the service by all. A primary avenue we do that is through singing. Colossians 3:17 says: Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
On this verse Douglas Moo explains that the spirit of Christ dwells richly in the church when the church sings.
