Preparing for Worship: 3/9/25
We pray you have been encouraged and helped in knowing Christ as we have journeyed through the book of Ephesians. As we transition from chapter 1 to chapter 2, take some time to read this signficant, beautiful and imp0rtant passage on being made alive in Christ and the “refreshing realism of the bible”.
Against the sombre background of our world today Ephesians 2:1–10 stands out in striking relevance. Paul first plumbs the depths of pessimism about humanity, and then rises to the heights of optimism about God. It is this combination of pessimism and optimism, of despair and faith, which represents the refreshing realism of the Bible. – John Stott
