Passage: 1 Peter 1:13-2:3

Sections, Scripture Passages, Quotes

Romans 1:25 – “they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature than the creator.”

All idols begin by offering great things for a very small price.  All idols then fail, more and more consistently, to deliver on their original promises, while ratcheting up their demands, which originally seemed so reasonable, for worship and sacrifice. In the end they fail completely…idols ask for more and more, while giving less and less, until eventually they demand everything and give nothing.” – Andy Crouch

John 8:31-32 – “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Galatians 8:1 – “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.”
