Passage: John 1:1-13

Sermon Breakdown, Quotes and Passages:

John 1:1-5 – The Greatness of God in Jesus

God’s ‘Word’ in the Old Testament is his powerful self-expression in creation, revelation, and salvation, and the personification of that ‘Word’ makes suitable for John to apply it as a title to God’s ultimate self-disclosure, the person of his own Son. – D.A. Carson.

John 4:50 – “your son with live”

John 5:11 – “take up your bed and walk”

John 9:7 – “Go wash in the pool”

John 11:43 – “Lazarus, come out”

We can trust such a God with everything. Because he is creator, he knows just what his creation, his people need. – Kent Hughes

John 1:6-11 – The Love of God in Jesus
