In chapter 18 Jesus is arrested and put on trial; in chapter 19 he is on a Cross; in both venues he reigns. – Dale Bruner
The first Adam began life in a garden. Christ, the second Adam, came at the end of his life to a garden.
In Eden Adam sinned. In Gethsemane the Savior overcame sin.
In Eden Adam fell. In Gethsemane Jesus conquered.
In Eden Adam hid himself. In Gethsemane our Lord boldly presented himself.

Leaders (v/12-14; 19-24; 28-38) God is GOOD …so we don’t have to look elsewhere
Peter (v/15-18, 25-27) God is GLORIOUS…so we don’t have to fear others
… we crave the approval of other people or fear their rejection. The Bible calls this the “fear of man”. The Bible’s answer is the fear of God. God is the glorious one whom we should fear. He is the one whose approval matters most, and he is the one whose approval we have in Jesus Christ. – Tim Chester
